About Me

I’m Dr. Sahar Martinez, a therapist, professor, writer, and generational healer. My work lives at the intersection of mental health, identity, and systemic change. As a daughter of Iranian immigrants and a mother raising first-generation children, I hold deep reverence for the stories we carry—and the ways we learn to soften, unlearn, and rebuild. This Substack is a space for reflection, truth-telling, and witnessing. Here, I write about therapy, lineage, womanhood, grief, midlife, and what it means to come home to yourself in a world that constantly pulls you away.
